USAA serves current or former military members (retired or veteran) which includes the Guard and Reserves. You are also eligible if your parent or spouse currently has or had a USAA account. Former spouses and widows are also eligible.

No ChexSystems
USAA does not use ChexSystems. Once you establish eligibility, you will be given a member number that allows you to open a checking and other accounts. The process can be completed online in about 15 minutes. The minimum opening balance is $25 for a checking account.
Full Service Bank
USAA is a great full-service bank. Members can choose from several bank products such as credit cards for any type of credit, renter's or home insurance, low rate auto insurance and auto loans.
